Verdict

Joe Jo Star could be the proverbial good thing (he is due to rise sharply up the ratings when his new mark kicks in), especially if he dots up Wednesday at Beverley, however there must be a concern on some level over this trip and we will take a chance on the rain arriving as we side with HARRY THE HAWK. Tim Walford's gelding really caught the eye with his finishing effort last time at Newcastle when beaten into second behind Wind Star. The return to 12 furlongs will suit and he can bounce back from a disappointing spell over hurdles this winter. Force Group should improve on his comeback fifth at Doncaster, Realism won a claimer easily at Southwell on Sunday and he is thrown in on his old form, whilst Babilu and Maslak represent trainers who travel a long way for this race. Andorn, Spirit Of Adjisa and Grey Command continue to run well in defeat, whilst Jim Goldie's Grandad Bill is now 4lb lower than his Musselburgh win in October last year. This is hardly the easiest of 'getting out stakes' to end a tricky card, however Harry The Hawk looks to be the one to side with if the forecast rain falls.
