Croeso Croeso and Entrap both have solid claims among the older horses in this Group 3 race for fillies and mares but the winner is likely to come from the classic generation with Topkamp getting the verdict over Khulood. The last mentioned made a winning return by landing the Nell Gwyn (for which she carries a 4lb penalty) and has disappointed since in the 1,000 Guineas and the Golden Jubilee Stakes. While this represents a drop in class for John Dunlop's filly she may have to settle for a minor role as the selection looks a progressive performer. Michael Bell's daughter of Pennekamp stepped up on her reappearance run to win a conditions race at Kempton and followed that up with an impressive effort in Haydock's Cecil Frail Stakes over this trip. Although beaten in Listed-company since at Warwick, that was over seven furlongs and the drop back to six furlongs is expected to suit. The remainder of the three-year-old runners make limited appeal and the biggest danger to the selection is likely to come from one of the older brigade with Entrap making most appeal of them. The William Haggas-trained filly is strictly held by the selection on running at Haydock but the stable's horses are running better now so it would be no surprise to see her finish closer today. Croeso Croeso is a consistent performer but is arguably better over the minimum distance, while Goldeva would probably want a softer surface.
