Verdict

Another competitive contest with the maximum field of 20 runners declared and several hold solid claims including Romany Nights, Canterloupe and Ellens Academy but the vote goes to Greenwood, who is taken to give weight away all round. Formerly with James Eustace, the selection returned to something like his best on his first start for Pat Murphy when chasing home all the way winner Taranki at Salisbury last time. With improvement to come on his second start for new connections, Greenwood looks worth a bet. Romany Nights showed his best form for some time when second to Thurlestone Rock at Kempton recently and has to be respected with Kieren Fallon again in the saddle. Canterloupe has slipped in the weights of late and has to be respected in this company having shown signs of a revival in recent starts, while Ellens Academy is beginning to show signs of former glories. Blythe Spirit has claims on his best but is probably better over further, while Undeterred may struggle under his penalty. There are plenty of others with claims including Ground Zero, Online Investor, Paddywack and Mimic but Greenwood has a sporting chance in a tough finale and gets the nod.
