SHOTLEY MAC is narrowly preferred here ahead of Red Cape, Johannes and Spirit Of Sharjah. A low draw is probably best here as they have to run down a slight dog leg, and so the front-running selection looks ideally drawn in stall four. A recent winner at Doncaster, the selection showed plenty of guts and evidently gets on well with jockey Frannie Norton who rides once again. A 5lb rise in the weights makes life tough and he hasn't always run well here, but on each occasion he has had a valid excuse and he is taken to run well at a fair price. Johannes looks an obvious danger given his good recent form; he has a bit to prove over this trip but aside from that he looks to hold a solid chance. Stablemate Sunrise Safari cannot be overlooked; his run at Newcastle last time out was good although he is another who has something to prove over this distance. White Deer is fairly exposed and has had a few homes but comes here in good form, as does Red Cape who should find this track more to his liking than at Pontefract on Tuesday where he ran extremely well in second place. Turn Me On's mark of 80 is probably high enough, something that may have been proven in his second to Bold Marc last time out; he holds White Deer on a run back at Thirsk in April although he is 3lb worse off today. Eastern Hills, Happy Anniversary and Mey Blossom are all interesting down at the foot of the weights, as is Without Prejudice who looks to be coming back to form and he has a 5lb pull in the weights with Shotley Mac on their latest running where he was beaten by two lengths. At a price Tiger Dream could run well for a yard that are having plenty of well-backed but still big priced winners of late, but it is Shotley Mac who is fancied to win again.
