Fayr Jag likes the course and you couldn't rule out a big effort, however King's Apostle looks to be a sprinter going places and Wiliam Haggas's colt gets the vote to record yet another success. The selection has proven to be equally adept on the turf and the all-weather and has now recorded three wins from his last four starts. His only recent defeat only came when he was felt by connections to have needed the run, but now fully fit and firing on all cylinders, he must be the one they have to beat. Damika won well last time out at Ripon when getting the better of Malcheek, however this race looks slightly stronger. Wyatt Earp has been threatening to win for a while and connections will be keen to record another York win so he must be feared, along with Partners In Jazz although he is arguably better at seven furlongs. Lipocco gets the marginal three-year-old allowance here and Ralph Beckett's Piccolo gelding should appreciate the ground and should go well. Burning Incense is an outsider who could go well, especially if any rain comes, however King's Apostle gets the nod to win a race in which three-year-old's have a decent record (4 of last 9 winners).
