Cape Cavalli, a winner at Goodwood last year, made a promising reappearance when only finding one too good at Newcastle. Mordred was in good form last month and should be thereabouts again while Ritchie Valens seeks to follow up a victory at Chelmsford off a 4lb higher mark. Amadeus Grey boasts decent form over a mile, including his latest third at Beverley, but this step up in trip could also suit ULSHAW BRIDGE. James Bethell’s gelding is a strong traveller but he tends to get outpaced in the closing stages. This is a relatively easy course so his stamina may not be unduly tested as Kevin Stott should be able to find plenty of cover from stall two. Tricorn is well treated nowadays and also worth a second look.
