In depth

Verdict

Shaquille and Hoof It Hoof It are penalised for earlier wins having been beaten in Pattern races subsequently and the latter’s stablemate Bailey Gate is weighted to beat both. But several produced promising debut efforts including ALMATY STAR, who may well have finished closer than third at Haydock with a clear run. Hobson Point found only one too good at Pontefract while Brooklyn Nine Nine and Concert Boy step up in trip. Nwaira is related to five winners and is preferred of the newcomers.
