Verdict

Sir Sidney is taken to recoup losses at the expense of Electrique, in an interesting contest to end proceedings. The two mentioned, along with Band, have a lot more experience than potentially promising sorts such as Hayhaat, Greenwich Meantime, Feel Good Factor and newcomer Muraqeb, and could end up fighting out the finish. Sir Sidney carried topweight in a handicap here in May and was not disgraced in second place and again found one too good at Doncaster last time. He just seemed to run out of steam on both occasions and the drop back in trip here could be the key to his success. Electrique has been asked to force the pace on his two latest outings, at Sandown and Newmarket, finding one too good on each occasion. York is a front-runner's track though so he will be in his element. It should be close and we will take Sir Sidney to gain an overdue victory.
