Sign Writer is selected to repel the challenge of Fighting Tom Cat, with Love Thirty the other main danger. Sign Writer has the edge in experience over his seven rivals, having had three outings already and is out to get the losses back after his recent defeat at Lingfield. Maybe he just did not handle the Polytrack, and judged on his earlier close second to Henry Cecil's highly-rated Camacho at Newmarket, we are prepared to give him another chance today. The testing conditions can throw up some funny results though and we would not be surprised in the least if Love Thirty were to make a bold bid. Mick Channon's filly only beat one home on her debut here on fast ground and now that the stable is starting to fire again, can put that run well behind her. Fighting Tom Cat was well behind Sign Writer at Newmarket and failed to show any real improvement here last time, and with nothing else standing out, Sign Writer should be the one to be on, ground permitting.
