Another competitive handicap for punters to fathom but the protagonists appear to be Indian Steppes, Ettrick Water and Scarrotto and we will take a chance on the last named. The gelding from the Stuart Williams yard is thrown in on his best form and with Lisa Jones taking off a further five pounds he will be hard to beat as long as the rain stays away. Indian Steppes rates the main danger after his good second behind Will He Wish over course and distance last time but he just gave the impression the handicapper had caught up with him there and for that reason he is opposed. Ettrick Water was a fair fourth last time out over a mile and she was staying on so the drop to seven furlongs is not sure to suit. Of the remainder Warden Warren won well last time but he will find this harder under his penalty so we are happy to stick with Scarrotto.
