    Verdict

The ease of APPIER’s latest success at Ripon suggests a five-timer is on the cards. He had Thermometer back in third at Ripon last week and this longer trip may bring further progress. Captain Howse has found one too good in both starts in handicaps so far and a visor is applied while Balgowan made no impression upped to today’s trip at Sandown on his handicap bow. Ludus goes handicapping for the first time having yet to threaten.
