      Verdict

      Percy's Word was back to form when second at Kempton earlier this month but does seem more at home on the all-weather nowadays. Sharja Silk has spurned easier opportunities than this and looks one to be wary of but fellow three-year-old Elegiac wasn’t suited by the heavy going at Haydock last time having got closer to Mekong at Chelmsford the time before. MAGELLAN has yet to win on Turf but still has time on his side and there should be more to come over this longer trip. Manjaam is back on a winning mark and respected dropping back from 2m while Okool has only been raised 4lb for winning over this trip at Salisbury. Financial Conduct may be in the handicapper’s grip now but Lord George is a previous course winner who would have claims on his best form.
