Kept Faith may not be one to take too short a price about but Godolphin's colt looked a shade unlucky on his debut over course and distance last month and makes more appeal than main rivals Laylati and Farne Island. The last mentioned looks the pick of the three newcomers being a son of Arkadian Hero out of a triple winner over 1m2f-1m4f. However, like a lot of Luca Cumani's two-year-olds, he may need more time. Confucius Miracle has shown ability in two starts on the all-weather and could be of interest on his turf debut, while Mataram needs to improve on what he has shown so far but may do so now that he encounters a faster surface for the first time. Light Mozart makes some appeal on pedigree but his trainer Clive Brittain is hardly known for his prowess at producing youngsters to win first time out, while the Mark Tompkins-trained Astrobella is another likely to need more time. Laylati has run to a similar level of form in both starts and has to be respected but if Kept Faith reproduces his first time out form, he will be tough to beat.
