Mark Tompkins likes to have a winner or two here and support for the blinkered Ice Magic would need heeding, as it would for Amy Weaver's Better Offer who is tried in a visor. However, more compelling claims are held by HANDSOME JACK who battled on bravely over this trip at Goodwood and remains open to improvement now tackling softer ground. Ian Burns has ridden a winner for Michael Bell at this track and his 7lb claim means Al Rannan has a lovely racing weight, Bouggatti could improve for stepping up in trip ahead of his handicap debut while Point Du Jour ran well in a strong Goodwood contest on Sunday, in the process advertising the fact he relishes some give in the ground. He's a big threat along with Regal Kiss who is going the right way, although this ground is an unknown for the latter.
