This looks a potentially informative contest with several powerful yards represented. Paladin has a middle-distance pedigree and an entry in next year's Derby and already looked ready for a longer trip when fifth on his debut at Newmarket. He's still preferred to Mahmood Al Zarooni's other runner, Grand Rapids, however. Sir Michael Stoute's two-year-olds are always worth a second look here and Croquembouche is no exception though he, too, is likely to need further. Bewilder didn't show much on his debut, but Comical was third to Saturday's Group 2 winner Red Duke at Redcar last month and the runner-up also won at York at the weekend. The latter should go close but we also like the look of newcomer PERFECT GRATITUDE, who went for 100,000gns at the sales earlier this year and is from a high-class family in the States - he may well prove above average.
