PRINCESS ROANIA (NAP) endured a frustrating time under NH rules by finishing second on seven successive occasions after her bumper debut win but ran out a ready winner of a Bath handicap last week and can defy her penalty under the young pilot who partnered her to victory on that occasion. Forecast ground conditions are different but she's proven on quick ground and can follow up off her current mark. Sandy Cove wins in his turn and rates a reliable performer at this level but The Ducking Stool could post the main challenge to the selection. Julia Fielden's charge, a course and distance winner, is no back number at the age of nine and was back to something close to her best last time when runner-up in a decent Doncaster handicap for the grade. Kristjano completes the shortlist despite maiden status - he's been running consistently on all starts since last September.
