Mac's Talisman, Zonnebeke and Leitrim Rock form our shortlist for this race with the vote going to Mac's Talisman. The selection ran well when placed at both Musselburgh and Southwell from a three-pounds higher mark than today before disappointing on his last outing. However, he really ought to be competitive at this lowly grade and, with sheepskin cheekpieces fitted, looks set to run a big race. Zonnebeke came good in a Thirsk seller last time and should be competitive for a place, although the visor that she wore to victory there is left off today. Judged on her Bath fourth behind Mister Completely two runs ago, Roving Vixen can be given a shout, although she ran indifferently here last time. Danifah's two wins have come at the minimum trip and she has yet to prove she stays this far, while Lilian, who is fitted with blinkers for the first time, can also be given a shout if returning to her autumn form, although she has yet to win a race. Esperance is also a maiden but Flying Spud comes here on the back of a decent Beverley run and can't be ruled out of bagging some money. Leitrim Rock looked a bit more like his old self at Chepstow last time and is another to consider in what is, overall, a weakish event. The vote, however, goes to Mac's Talisman.
