Verdict

Current Event easily beat Get It On over 2m2f at Fontwell in March but this longer trip may just stretch his stamina. Bennys Mist made a winning start over fences at Exeter after a couple of wins over hurdles but had to be ridden right out to do so and this is his first try at this higher level. George Nympton could be interesting as he just failed to overhaul Larks Lad over this trip at Uttoxeter on his reappearance while Simply Wings and Master Milan would have a chance on the best of last season's form. Double Ross was only beaten a neck when favourite over 2m1f at Newton Abbot and stays further but he the handicapper has taken no chances with the six-year-old, who has to give 3lb to GOLDEN CHIEFTAIN. Well backed on his comeback run at Chepstow, that wasn't the first time that Colin Tizzard's charge had disappointed followers but he has undoubted ability and it's just possible a drop in distance will suit on the easy ground.
