In depth

Verdict

This looks quite competitive but it is difficult to get away from the hat-trick seeking DAN GUN (NAP), who has been transformed by a switch to the Skelton yard. He steps up a grade today under a penalty but a mark of 99 probably still underestimates his ability. The lightly-raced maiden La Reine Poutine is interesting upped in distance and fitted with a tongue-tie. Shanroe Tic Tec is usually thereabouts though hasn’t won for more than two years but Faint Hope is on a fair mark judged on his narrow defeat at Warwick and connections will have been delighted with Rare Clouds’ belated reappearance following wind surgery at Haydock. Frankincense and Butler's Brief are others to consider.
