Verdict

A recent trend in handicap chases has been how well handicapped certain horses have been when moving from the point-to-point arena and hunting field. Bennys Girl is one such contender here and needs monitoring in the market on her first run for Dai Williams since moving from Ireland. She was a consistent performer between the flags and is respected. However, ADAM DU BRETEAU is preferred on this return to fences after an abortive attempt over timber last time. He had previously shown plenty of promise in two starts over the larger obstacles last term and it will be disappointing if he can't go close in what looks a modest contest with that seasonal reappearance under his belt. Alanjou has place claims but Princesse Fleur looks next best if she's back to the form displayed when scoring here for the Scudamores in May.
