In depth

Verdict

Jaunty Times has been found an easy opportunity to open his account, and should do so ahead of Corton, Cantgeton, and Ellas Recovery. Jaunty Times has been placed four times from his six starts to date, and although flattered by his proximity to Bob Bob Bobbin at Warwick in February, he then went on to finish a close fourth to Holland Park at Uttoxeter, and that form was given a boost when the latter followed up in better company at Aintree. Therefore this maiden hurdle should be there for the taking by Henry Daly's charge who gets a confident vote. Flat winner Corton shaped fairly well on his Newbury introduction but needs more time to adjust, while Cantgeton failed to win a bumper and now turns his hand to hurdles as well. Ellas Recovery took on fair company at Kempton and was not disgraced, but has plenty to do, as do the rest of them, to stop Jaunty Times from obliging and giving Richard Johnson another winner.
