In depth

Verdict

A tight little race that can go to Deep King, who shaped encouragingly on his reappearance and gets the nomination in preference to Tik-A-Tai and Colonel Frank, who are hard to split on the best of their terms The latter does have a fair bit to do in giving weight away all round though and it will take a good effort from him to prevail on these terms. However, he is very lightly raced over fences and has a fair bit of scope for the coming battles ahead. Tik-A-Tai has much more experience as a chaser and will make them all go some if he is ready to go after his summer break. He is rated much higher over timber and can pay his way in this area before a switch back later on. Nevertheless, Deep King makes slightly more appeal on these terms and looks the one to be on after a string of good efforts. Seamus Mullins' charge is versatile regarding his ground and, after a near miss over an inadequate trip here three weeks ago, Deep King looks to be good value as he bids for compensation today.
