Sweeping Rock gained the only victory of his hurdling career over this track and trip in June but didn't run well at Uttoxeter last time and needs to bounce back. MAGICAL THOMAS was a long way behind in that earlier race but has gradually got his act together on fast ground and scored at Fontwell last time. He can complete a double as Mariners Moon, 1-25 on the Flat, only gained his first place money over hurdles at Uttoxeter in July while Richard Johnson's mount Dusky Raider, a dual winner on the level, hasn't shown much over timber.
