held up, 4th when not fluent 5th, 3rd before 8th, 2nd after 4 out, not fluent 3 out, jumped left 2 out, unable to reach winner and lost 2nd close home

War Singer is useful and has a tongue tie and headgear applied for the first time but he'll have to be at his best to give weight away all round. Philip Hobbs has his select summer string in cracking form at present which brings Ink Master into the argument although he gives the impression of needing a helping hand from the handicapper. Both should run well but TIGER TREK has gone well here in the past and also ran a decent race when hunting up John Reel at Southwell latest. First-time cheekpieces are applied and he should go close off his unchanged mark in receipt of considerable weight from the top two. Marquis Of Carabas may need more chasing experience whilst it will be fascinating to see if Brian Ellison can reinvigorate The Grey Taylor. He'll be a danger if doing so, being very well handicapped if anywhere near his best.
