keen hold tracking leaders, ridden 2f out, led approaching 1f out, ridden out
in rear on outside, stayed on from over 1f out, not reach leaders
tracked leader, ridden over 1f out, soon weakened
outpaced in rear
led, ridden when headed approaching 1f out, weakened quickly
mid-division, ridden halfway, weakened over 1f out
in rear and outpaced, some late headway towards finish
This appears to be a lot more difficult to weigh up than the first division and so it is with not too much confidence that Cash is given the nod ahead of Relim and The Leather Wedge. Paul Johnson¿s charge was successful here a fortnight ago in a race where today¿s rivals Sandgate Cygnet and Relim were behind. He should again beat those rivals although with a bit more restraint in the early part of the race Relim may get a lot closer this time. The Leather Wedge could turn out to be the main threat, Alan Berry¿s colt has been steadily coming back to form and ran a cracker to finish runner up to Laurel Dawn at Southwell earlier this month. However it is a very open affair with both Percy Douglas and So Sober capable of getting into the action, but we will side with Cash.
