In a tricky race, the selection is Kon Tiki, with Inquisitress, Beech Games and Nicada suggested as his biggest dangers. Based on his second run, Petrosian could not be ruled out from a low mark, while High Society Five looks now to have been flattered by his Newcastle second to Ben Chorley two runs ago. Kon Tiki has shown enough to also be conisdered off a low mark and the betting might tell us more, while Nicada came good here last time over seven furlongs and a further step up in trip could bring about further improvement. Inquisitress's form rates as solid enough in the context of this race, and Keidas's third when stepped up in trip last time suggests that she might take a hand in proceedings today also. A step up in trip also worked the trick for Copper King last time, although that win came in a claimer and on soft going, and Tom Paris and Beech Games have also to be granted every respect in a race that is a bit tricky to work out. Our ruminations led us to select Kon Tiki.
