Verdict

Our selection in the maiden is Lucky Token for the Ed Dunlop yard with Blanc Visage and Malakiya rated the main dangers. Lucky Token was second in a Lingfield maiden earlier this month despite looking slightly green. She will come on for that run and she ran as though a step up in trip would suit. The Ed Dunlop-yard appears to be finding some form and the presence of Eddie Ahern in the saddle is always a bonus. Blanc Visage was second behind Lucky Lark in a course-and-distance maiden earlier this month and he is rated the main danger to our selection. Of the others, Malakiya is a son of Saddlers Wells and was a 74,000 guineas recruit to the Gerard Butler stable. He did not show much as a two-year-old but he is bred for middle distances and should win a race of this standard sooner rather than later, but our pick remains Lucky Token.
