        Verdict

        A winner at Ripon last year, Mrs Hoo has been a big disappointment this season but continues to tumble down the handicap. Charlie Arthur was beaten five lengths over 1m4f here having won over 1m2f earlier at Chelmsford. He’ll appreciate the return to a shorter trip but Enzo goes the other way having enjoyed some success over an extended mile. Bell Heather seeks a fifth course victory and is back on a fair mark while High Gloss makes her handicap debut, though connections seem unsure over her best trip. MALDONADO was well backed when scoring here in July and missed the break when failing to land the odds on a return visit. He’s won since on the Turf and Scott McCullagh’s claim is a plus this evening. Compass Point has lost direction since a hat-trick at Chelmsford in the spring.
