        Verdict

        This could turn out to be quite a decent maiden and Siwa could be good enough to land first prize, Ludovico and Donna Giovanna look capable of reaching the frame. Ed Dunlop's filly made a very favourable impression on her debut here in November. Although a little green in the early stages, she stayed on nicely to finish just three lengths behind the winner. With improvement expected she looks the best option this afternoon. Donna Giovanna has had plenty of chances in maidens and handicaps. She is rated in the seventies so should be good enough to make the places in this company. However some top stables are represented here including Kut from Jeremey Noseda's yard and Kevin Ryan's :Ludovico. The latter was placed in some very strong maidens on the turf and if handling this surface , he should be involved in the finish. All in all a pretty tough event but the well bred Siwa could be up to the task.
