The vote here goes to Shaymee's Girl, with others to consider including Taboor, Gilded Cove, Lady Pekan and Kennington. Shaymee's Girl was an eyecatcher at Southwell last time, when finishing just behind Desert Light after meeting trouble in running. Factoring in misfortune is often a route to the poorhouse but, if the impression left that day is not misleading, she has the look of a well-weighted runner and, accordingly, gets the call. Turning to the others and Taboor caught the eye staying on into second in an apprentice handicap at Lingfield last time and, just a pound higher in the weights today, has to come into the equation. Gilded Cove has won from a higher mark and remains competitive. Mister Mal ended the Turf season well but maybe has a bit to find on all-weather form. Sholto's all-weather efforts recently have failed to match his Turf runs of last season, while Heavens Walk is thought capable of better but ran poorly on the all-weather last time. Lady Pekan is now well-weighted based on her form of a year ago and a return to that level would make her interesting. Kennington has been knocking at the door from his current mark, but mainly recently at Southwell. Desert Light has a similar profile but has recent form at this track. Overall, though, once again, we will side with Shaymee's Girl.
