This race carries very good prize-money and has attracted a very good field with our vote going to Celtic Mill, with Quito, Moayed, Middle ton Grey and Texas Gold rated as his biggest dangers. The selection's all-weather record stands at four wins from eight starts and, although he is eight pounds higher than for the latest of them, his form towards the end of the Turf season was Group class, and if he is that kind of form, he must hold a very good chance. Much as Quito was behind Moayed at Lingfield last time, he had to be ridden from off the pace that day and could well get closer today as his all-weather record is good. Moayed, of course, also has to be respected. Halmahera is a high-class sprint handicapper but his inexperience of the all-weather might count against him here, and Endless Summer has yet to race on artificial surfaces. Smart Hostess's all-weather strike-rate is very good, being two wins from four efforts although she's a good bit higher in the ratings now than when achieving the latest of them. Middleton Grey put in a career-best effort to score over course and distance last time and a seven-pound penalty means that more of the same is required, while Texas Gold is seven pounds above a previous best all-weather winning high but at least comes here in good heart. Overall, though, Celtic Mill, who is a course and distance winner, looks sure to play a prominent part from stall two and, as we say, in a good line-up, is taken to score.
