      Verdict

CHARLIE D has gradually improved in handicaps and got his head in front over track and trip last month. He may well shrug off a 4lb rise with any further progress. Escape Clause attempts this longer trip for the first time having finished runner-up over 1m2f on his only start of the year so far, though that was back in June, while Cry Wolf’s earlier double came over longer trips. Gowran maiden winner Aircraft Carrier looks a likely improver back over 1m4f today with headgear fitted on only his second start for John Ryan while Sebastian's Wish has his first start after wind surgery.
