mid-division, soon ridden along, never a factor
soon led, ridden and headed 3f out, weakened 2f out
slowly into stride, soon outpaced
chased leaders, eased when beaten from over 2f out
stumbled leaving stalls, soon ridden along, headway over 3f out, chased winner over 2f out, edged right over 1f out, kept on inside final furlong
held up in touch, headway over 3f out, ridden over 2f out, led over 1f out, just held on
slowly into stride, rear until headway over 3f out, ridden 2f out, weakened 1f out
with leader until ridden over 2f out, saddle slipped
blindfold left on leaving stalls, behind and never dangerous
chased leaders, ridden over 3f out, soon weakened
towards rear, headway and ridden over 3f out, stayed on from 2f out without being dangerous
led early, always prominent, led again 3f out, ridden and headed over 1f out, hanging right entering final furlong
A poor seller here but something has to win and the principals look to be Forty Forte, Kanz Wood and Frank's Quest and the tentative vote goes to Forty Forte. The selection won well in similar grade last time out when defeating Mizhar and with the useful Ben Swarbrick taking off a handy five pounds he will be hard to beat under conditions that suit. Kanz Wood rates the main danger but he was behind the selection last time and although he is better off at the weights here the winner won with a shade in hand and he will need to improve to gain his revenge. Frank's Quest is another worthy of respect he was a good second behind Vandenberghe last time and that effort would see him go close but he is far from consistent and for that reason he is passed over on this occasion. Of the remainder Cal Mac is dropping in grade but he has been out of form over hurdles of late and for the winner we return to Forty Forte.
