      Verdict

A half-sister to prolific winning sprinter Captain Dunne, Northern Queen makes a belated debut and is preferred to Reformed Character of the newcomers. The remainder all return to action and USTATH looks to have the strongest form with a second on the Turf course at Lingfield in August. He’s closely matched at the weights with Serengeti Song, gelded since failing to land the odds at Pontefract in September, but gets the vote to make a winning return. Mawaki will need to step up on last year’s efforts to figure but Sarasota Bay was placed in both outings last season though failed to threaten on either occasion.
