Verdict

A trappy affair and Fast Freddie can defy the draw to beat Muktasb and Mannello. Fast Freddie landed something of a gamble at the course last week but connections have been quick to come back to the well before the assessor has his say and if he can secure a positive pitch, there has to be a solid chance of a follow-up. Muktasb seems to have made difficult work of taking the money when it matters. It remains to be seen as to whether he can follow up a recent Classified stakes victory at Kempton. Mannello is much better than her 0 from 20 record suggests. She did little wrong in a Lingfield claimer and her duck will surely be broken soon. Front-running Kennington kept on grittily when the chips were down at Kempton and would be worth a look if the market showed any positivity. Sir Don makes a belated reappearance after a sizeable spell on the sidelines. Blackheath makes a debut for Simon Mason having competed creditably in Northern sprints for Dandy Nicholls. Drum Dance is best of the rest. A tough race to fathom and Fast Freddie is the tentative call.
