In depth

Verdict

Geezers Colours just gets the nod in this maiden auction contest ahead of Regal Tradition, Southwest Star and Miss Phoebe. The selection went well when runner up here last week over 6f, showing improved form on what we had seen so far, and this return to 7f looks ideal for him. Although he has been tried twice before, he clearly was not in red hot form then and his style of running last time suggests that this and further will suit, so he gets the nod. Regal Tradition enjoyed the step up to this trip here last time and with his yard going quite well he merits respect. Southwest Star has been runner-up three times in a row, one of those over this trip at Kempton. The return to this trip shouldn't make a whole lot of difference and a repeat of any of thise recent runs puts him in with a chance, he is just a bit one paced close home. Miss Phoebe has had a couple of quiet runs so far and shaped with encouragement last time, so she can build on that, but for today Geezers Colours is the selection.
