A competitive novices hurdle gets proceedings underway and as usual in these events the market will be very informative but the principals look to be News Of The Day Qrackers and John Dillon and the narrow vote is given to the last named. The selection was a fair sort on the flat and made a pleasing debut over hurdles when second behind Mr Crystal despite running green. He looks sure to have learnt from the experience and with McCoy taking the ride he looks the one to be on. Qrackers rates the main danger on his debut second behind Franchoek he looked in need of the run on that occasion and is another that will not be far away. News Of The Day won on his debut when beating Mud Monkey but that was on a much softer surface. Of the remainder Smugglers Bay is another that showed promise on his debut but he may be seen to better effect over a longer trip in time. Of the others Macaroni Gin is from a shrewd in form yard and should be watched in the market but with improvement likely John Dillon looks the one to be on.
