      Verdict

      Avantgardist and Born Legend share the same official rating and the former represents last year’s winning stable, though the latter has the better recent form having only been beaten half-a-length when third at Lingfield last month. ATKINSON GRIMSHAW can improve past both, however, if he handles the switch to the all-weather. He was a fair third at Bath in September on only his second career start. Blushing Red found 1m too short at Yarmouth in October and is another likely improver so is preferred to Born To Reason and the others.
