    Verdict

Brigadoon has been beaten in lesser races at Southwell lately and makes limited appeal here but Fast Play can’t be ignored as she reverts to her best trip today. Medicine Hat stays much further but was fourth over 1m4f at Newcastle last time. We like the look of SPES NOSTRA (NAP) as this represents a drop in class and the excellent Lewis Edmunds takes off 5lb. Iain Jardine’s charge hinted at a revival over a shorter trip here last time and has been dropped 3lb since. Heart Locket is now a pound lower than when winning at Newcastle in November but was behind Fast Play here earlier in the month, though is now 7lb better off.
