Laconicos can defy topweight in the nursery, with Swift Oscar and Hits Only Cash seen as the main dangers. Laconicos posted a few good efforts on Turf this year, notably when short-headed by Berkhamsted on his Leicester debut for David Loder. The winner is very highly rated by Jamie Osborne, who must have been impressed by the performance of the runner-up that day, so much in fact that he has now taken charge of the juvenile, owned by Pat Eddery's syndicate. He needed the run when unplaced here recently, having been off the track since July, and will give his owners plenty of fun throughout the winter. Swift Oscar is going the right way and makes his nursery debut today, while Hits Only Cash improved for the step up to today's trip here last time and should figure. They appear to be the main contenders, but with more scope than most, Laconicos is the pick.
