        Verdict

        No track records in danger on this occasion and it is to Neptune that we offer our selection with Frontlinefinancier and Moon Spinner offered due deference. Stef Liddiard's nine-year-old has promised much to his backers this term and delivered little when it matters but that said, todays trip of fourteen furlongs will suit much better than the inadequate twelve he raced over last time out. Frontlinefinancier warranted a big pay day for former jockey Nathan Rossiter over course-and-distance thirteen days ago. The trainer seems confident that he can go in again having taken the time to establish his ideal trip. Moon Spinner's recent visits to the all-weather have been to Lingfield Park. On a busy bank holiday, Andrew Reid wouldn't be braving the snarl ups along the M25 if he didn't believe he had a chance. Johnny Alljays won possibly the worst claimer of the year at Southwell. Today's opposition is much stronger on the formbook. Strictly Speaking was a serious dodgepot during his Paul Cole days and Roy Brotherton will need all his powers to teach him how to knuckle down and win a race. Neptune is put up as our selection in a race that won't take too much winning.
