Swindon Town Flyer can get losses back at the expense of Ten Meropa, Captain Esteem, Bailey and Carrickmacross to name but a few. With unraced animals from the yards of Mark Johnston and Sir Mark Prescott in attendance, the market should be noted, but we reckon that the experience of Swindown Town Flyer can prove decisive. He was sent off favourite at Goodwood last time on the back of an earlier decent effort at Brighton, but was short-headed by Outside Edge. A reproduction of that form should see the gelding have a big say in the outcome here despite the company of some other promising individuals. One of those is Ten Meropa who overcame a slow start to post a very decent third on his Sandown bow, while Bailey ran green on his Goodwood debut and is another that is entitled to improve. Captain Esteem was caught in the slipstream of the very highly-rated Midships at Newbury, and time may tell that was a hot maiden. Carrickmacross has had two outings over five furlongs at Southwell up to now, and already looks as though he needs further. He will relish the trip then, and with Menadha showing some ability at Haydock, this has the makings of being an above-average Wolverhampton maiden, in which Swindon Town Flyer is taken to come out on top.
