      Verdict

Voltaic won an amateurs’ race over track and trip earlier in the month but remains 5lb higher and POPE GREGORY (NAP) makes more appeal. The latter returned to action with a better effort at the track last month and, having landed a course and distance double off higher marks at this time last year, Scott Dixon’s new charge gets the vote. Dark Company has disappointed since scoring at Southwell while Distinction’s only win so far came over a shorter trip.
