Red Chairman has been finding one or two too good but is worth sticking with to come good at the expense of Best Game, Oakley Absolute and Mr Kalandi to name but three. Red Chairman finds himself sharing the top of the handicap with High Dyke, but may well be up to the task after being found wanting so far this year. David Loder's charge has raced much too freely on each of his four starts this year, and indeed has been a beaten favourite on each of his last three outings. He has not found a lot in the finish and probably needs to be produced at just the right time, so Jamie Spencer, who rode him here in February, may try different tactics and just restrain him enough for the business end. The ability is there, but will he produce it on the day? Only time will tell. Best Game has never raced over further than a mile and this will be his first visit to Wolverhampton. The way he stayed on behind Chief Dipper at Lingfield last time gives cause for encouragement though, and he too can be considered. Oakley Absolute hails from a top yard but needs to improve, and Mr Kalandi has the assistance of Alan Munro who came back with a bang at the weekend. If Spencer times it right though, Red Chairman can finally get off the mark.
