The drums will have been banging all night if Norwegian is expected to land the David Loder/Jumeirah Racing a hat-trick of wins from recent runners and it can be virtually assured that the Halling colt will be sent off at a very restrictive price if all the portents look good on the day. Therefore, it may be prudent to try and find the likeliest candidate for the forecast slot to spice up what could become a very one-sided affair if Norwegian lives up to expectations. And Play Master looks the best of the opposition to have raced before with Bahiano and Unintentional closely matched on what they have achieved to date - while money for newcomer Global Achiever will be interesting. However, Play Master, who cost 15,000gns as a yearling, put in a very respectable effort on his debut over seven furlongs here a little over a week ago and can be expected to build on that performance in due course. The step up to an extended mile should not be a problem for the son of Second Empire and, with the in-form Paul Eddery sure to be fired up for the task, a bold bid is expected from Play master. However, it will be no surprise to see Norwegian prove to be too good for him today and he fits the bill as a late maturing type who can do his bit to ensure David Loder's year gets off to a very respectable start for statisticians
