    Verdict

After exactly a year on the sidelines. LAIETH made a successful return to action at Kempton. He makes his handicap debut but did win over a longer trip here as a two-year-old and should take another step towards starting to repay his 550,000gns purchase price this evening. Tough Remedy has won over this trip at Newcastle and Doncaster this year and is probably the danger ahead of Smokey Lane, who hasn’t been beaten far the last twice but has yet to place on the all-weather. Fire Diamond won over track and trip in April but has not been in sparkling form on Turf lately off lower marks.
