In depth

Verdict

Blue Zenith gets the pick over Lavande, Miss Poppy and In A Pickle to name but a few in with chances. In Truth, Blue Zenith has failed to live up to earlier maiden promise after her three defeats in nurseries, but she ran better than her finishing position suggests at Newbury last time. Stan Moore's filly made most of the running at the Berkshire track 11-days ago, fading in the soft ground to be ninth, but hopefully this switch to the Polytrack will help her to break her duck. Lavande is definitely getting the hang of things judged on her four outings to date, and she has proved that she can act on this surface, while Miss Poppy ran a similar sort of race to the selection when attempting to make all before tiring at Lingfield last week. In A Pickle ran well over six-furlongs here a fortnight ago, so the switch back to the minimum is a bit of a worry. Another Socket is entitled to improve, but for the winner we return to Blue Zenith.
