        Verdict

        MR HICHENS may be able to supplement his recent success by getting the better of Make Amends and Tropical Blue. Karen George's charge ran on well to gain his first success since 2008 over this course and distance for which he's been raised by 5lbs. He's won from higher marks in the past so the rise in the weights shouldn't be beyond him and getting his head in front again should have done his confidence the world of good. Make Amends comes here in search of a hat-trick following narrow successes at Lingfield and Wolverhampton for which she's risen a total of 8lbs. She runs this track well and could hardly be in better form but the assessor may have her in his icy grip. Tropical Blue has frustrated his followers the last twice having found one too good on each occasion; he looks up to winning from his current mark and the fitting of cheekpieces may help him to realise that. Pha Mai Blue and Mr Udagawa are both worth noting in the ring whilst Shake On It was in fine form earlier in the year but preference is for Mr Hichens.
