Not the strongest of maidens and it looks a good opportunity for Chart Oak to get off the mark, with the exposed duo of Summer Lodge and Can Can Star looking the chief dangers. Any support for the newcomers Stanerra's Story and Ansells Pride should be noted, however the selection is give n the nod in the hope that he can build on the hint of promise shown in three runs last year. He still looked in need of the experience when not seeing out a longer trip here a month ago, however he should go better today for a jockey who he made a promising debut under last February. Can Can Star has surely had enough chances to get off the mark so is overlooked today, although Shane Kelly does look a decent jockey booking for a horse that needs plenty of cajoling. Mighty Kitchener, a stablemate of the selection, must have claims based on his third last time out, however he is another who is yet to get off the mark in plenty of attempts so is passed over, along with Summer Lodge who has a similar profile. For the winner then, we will optimistically return to Chart Oak to small stakes.
