DUKE OF RAINFORD is rated 2lbs higher than for his two wins this calendar year but his jockey is able to claim and he didn't shape too badly in defeat last time. He was beaten just over two lengths into fifth on that occasion but would have finished closer with a clear run and is worth another chance. Cheery Cat has plenty of form to his name over course and distance from similar marks and should be in the shake-up again whilst Gilderoy has to be of interest with blinkers applied and a promising pilot in the saddle as he went close on his only previous run at this venue from a similar mark. Shakespeare's Son is entitled to make the frame but has only managed to get his head in front once thus far in his career as has Carnival Dream who ran well here last time.
